Description

The Carolina Poplar is a natural hybrid poplar from France that was first introduced to North America in a planting in Ontario in 1925. This tree is widely scattered and is usually not found in great abundance unless it is planted in cities and towns for shade. The leaves are simple, alternate and ovate or triangular in outline. Leaf bases are more rounded than square, while leaf margins are finely toothed. (Source: Ohio State University)
